Lesson 11 of 17 · Face Angle

The face starts the ball.

The one thing you're installing today

Start the ball on line by keeping the face quieter through impact.

Why this matters

Most golfers focus on the stroke.

But the stroke doesn’t start the ball.

The face does.

Even a small change in face angle sends the ball off line.

The reality

Open face

Ball starts right

Square face

Ball starts on line

Closed face

Ball starts left

You don’t need a perfect stroke.

You need the face to arrive square.

How to control it

Set the face

Quiet the hands

Use tempo

Set it. Count it. Let it arrive.

The mistake

Most golfers try to guide the ball.

That activates the hands…

And the face moves.

Guiding = twisting.

Face Control Drill

  1. Set two tees as a gate
  2. Aim face through the gate
  3. Roll with tempo
  4. If you hit a tee — reset

The shift

You stop steering…

You start trusting.

“Face first. Stroke follows.”
